The curricular unit is designed to strengthen and further develop students? linguistic and communicative skills, particularly in reading, writing, listening and speaking.

It focuses on the acquisition and effective use of professional and technical language within the hospitality industry, with specific emphasis on front office and concierge operations. The module promotes the development of specialised terminology and communicative strategies appropriate to a range of professional contexts in the sector, preparing students to perform confidently and competently in real-world hospitality environments.

The English I course is structured to advance the development of core communicative and linguistic competencies in English,
with particular emphasis on professional discourse within the Tourism sector. It is envisaged that students will cultivate both oral
and written communicative proficiency across the domains of comprehension, interaction, and production, engaging in authentic
and contextually grounded situations, while concurrently enhancing intercultural sensitivity and a critical understanding of
English as a global lingua franca.
