In this course core concepts of "Operating Systems" (OS) will be outlined. The Operating Systems that will be addressed are the most currently used - either as a Workstation or as a Server: MS-Windows and the well-known UNIX Liked-Systems - macOS, GNU/Linux and the current mobile Operating Systems iOS and Android; the GNU/Linux distribution chosen to serve the course will be Ubuntu.

Nesta unidade curricular apresentam-se os conceitos fundamentais sobre "Sistemas Operativos" (SO), através da exploração dos SOs atualmente mais usados: MS-Windows, macOS e os SOs UNIX de livre distribuição/utilização ("GPL Licence") GNU/Linux. A distribuição GNU/Linux escolhida, e que será usada nesta unidade curricular é o Ubuntu.
